Who Can Attend
The First Steps Workshops are designed to support parents of children who have a range of conditions that are responsive to early intervention. They include:
- Cerebral palsy
- Down syndrome
- Moderate or greater hearing or vision impairment, including deafblindness
- Fragile X syndrome
- Many other conditions
While parents are especially welcome to attend, we understand that a range of people can play a vital role in the life of a child with a disability. Therefore, the First Steps Workshops are open to all those adults closest to the child. Who these people are in your child's life only you can know, so we will leave it to decide who you would like to bring along. When you register we just ask that you let us know how many people you would like to invite, whether they be family members or friends of you and your child.
Can I Bring My Child?
We really want to make this a time for you, so if you can do so we encourage you to come without your child. However, we understand that life isn't always that simple, so if you can only come if your child comes with you, then you are very welcome to bring them.
We do not have the funding to pay for childcare for your child.
